YWA is an award scheme dedicated to the promotion and development of art produced by Young Wimbledon Artists who live or are educated within the borough of Merton. This unique award scheme is supported and funded by Wimbledon Village Hall Trust together with a group of private individual donors. The scheme not only offers Young Wimbledon Artists a platform to have their art exhibited within a professional gallery environment it also offers them a chance to win one of its generous awards. YWA’s annual curated exhibitions began in 2016. Previous shows have displayed an outstanding and truly eclectic mix of two and three dimensional pieces produced by senior and junior students from our local schools, colleges, academies and art clubs. The shows have not only demonstrated the skills that are being nurtured within our local teaching establishments, they have also highlighted the unique and amazing individual artistic talent of today’s Young Wimbledon Artists.
These annual exhibitions are held in the Norman Plastow Gallery.
The YWA has 2 shows a year: One in June for the High school students and a Junior school show in November.
